SNOW

The last couple of days it has been snowing quite a bit. The forecasts predict more snow at least the next 5 days, so maybe this year we will have a white Christmas!
The snow has been causing a bit of chaos - a lot of accidents and many had to stay home from school and work today because they couldn't get out of their house.

I took a few pictures this morning from our appartment.

I like all the snow, but that might be because I had today off and don't have to get out of the house until Monday.

Tonight we are having a couple of friends over if they can get through the snow. We are having traditional Danish "æbleskiver" (a kind of pancake or waffledough baked into little balls. We have them with jam and powdered sugar) and gløgg (a hot drink made of red wine, different Christmas spices, almond slices and raisins).

Klaus and I took Noah and Emmy (youngest nephew and niece) to Randers Rainforest which is an indoor zoo with lots of rainforest animals. Many of the animals run free in the different huge enclosures and the visitors can walk around among them. We had a fun time with the kids and I think they enjoyed it. They were were interested in the animals and brave enough to walk among snakes (I found that pretty scary!!! Even though the snakes were not dangerous.

Christmas Party

The Babtism of Asbjørn

Klaus and I were happy to attend the babtism of Asbjørn in Frederikshavn (North Jutland) on Nov. 8. Asbjørn is the son of Mie, a very good friend of Klaus from childhood up until now. Asbjørn was born in July. A very cute little boy... that you can easily fall in love with.

Olivers birthday

Oct. 19 was Oliver's 11th birthday. Oliver is one of Klaus' 3 nephews. We were invited to celebrate Oliver's birthday with birthday buns, cake and coffee. We had such a fun night. We gave Oliver a sportsbag with Barcelonas logo... He is going to watch a Barcelona game next month with his dad so this was very suitable for the trip :-)

Last weekend we went to Lalandia to celebrate Olivers birthday with more family and friends at a great family-friendly restaurant called Restaurante Il bambino. They had a great Italian buffet and the kids could play in a huge play-area right next door. Lalandia is a new big holiday centre with a big waterpark and lots of activities like indoor golf, bowling, badminton... shoppping, dining etc. I have posted a few pictures from the southern europan inspired "town centre" with shops, restaurant, small amphitheatre etc. It is indoor and the sky changes with the time of day.... really cool place!

Klaus went to Singapore last week for a 4 day work related trip. He had to take an onboard delivery of some ship spares. He was very excited and a little nervous but everything went well and he got to see Singapore and some of its sights. I spent time studying and hanging out with friends and family, but I missed him and was happy to have him back Wednesday. I don't like being away from for very long. I guess that just shows that we still care a lot for each other and don't like being seperated - thank you Skype for letting me say goodnight to Klaus each night :-)

Klaus and I have been enjoying most weekends in each others company, we have attended a party and been with friends in my parents' beach house. My brother finished his schooling and is now a carpenter in my dad's firm...he did well at his exams.

I am back in school studying exciting subjects such as; paediatrics, sociology and anthropology, elderly, health science etc. I am starting my clinical practice again in mid Nov in elderly nursing and afterwards paediatrics.... And then in Feb. I start my last semester!

Seattle and the Sounders game

We went to Seattle to go do a bit of sightseeing and to go to the Sounders game. They were playing FC Barcelona on Aug. 5.

We stayed in a small Scandinavian style hotel - Ace Hotel on 1st Ave. It was actually really good for the location and price. We went to the Space Needle, the business centre, Pike Place market...and we stopped by the hotel where the Barcelona players stayed, so Klaus could see them, before we headed to Quest field for the game.

Mt. Rainier

Klaus and I decided to go see Mt. Rainier - I have never been there, even though I have visited the state 4 times now. We picked a perfect day to go - the weather was gorgeous and clear. We had borrowed Cambron's car so we were able to go on a small road trip.
The drive down there was beautiful - we made a few stops to enjoy the views. Near the mountain we met a nature photographer who was nice to take a few pictures of us and the mountain.
On our way back to Ellensburg we stopped in Yakima, looked at some shops and had dinner at Taco Bell..... (we really like the Mexican fast food, maybe we should open a Taco Bell in DK????)

Nicole and Brandon's Wedding Day

Aug. 1st was Nicole and Brandon's wedding. They got married at Ritter Farms in Cle Elum.

The weather was beautiful, and the scenery was idyllic. The day was very romantic and fun. A lot of guests attended, there was great food, great speeches and great music and dancing (the wedding party performed a fun dance! - look it up at youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTgT_l2Lpjw )

We went to see Alan (father from my second hostfamily) who lives in Wenatchee. He had moved into a new house and we enjoyed a great lunch with daughter Cambron and his wife Kelly. We went to Ohlme gardens and stopped in Leavenworth on our way back.

We also went to visit my great friend from high school Jessica, her husband Ryan and their sweet daughter. It was great seeing them, catching up and meeting Kylie. She really is adorable - and a happy girl. The boys - Klaus and Ryan went fishing, unfortunately they didn't catch any fish - they are planning on a making a longer fishing trip next time we're around!
